My Roles in being a solo game developer:

Being a solo developer for my game consisted overseeing all aspects of my game.

Initially working on the gameplay and wave system and character movement only in later stage started focusing on the enemies variety and defences.

Music, Art & sound

  • These elements I wanted to convey the most in my game having a unique soundtrack that I composed and Art that I made was with the biggest intention to create two things that shouldn't work together do, horror and tower defence. Not many games in general take the player through playing a villain monster I wanted my game to represent art and music inspired from the past using modern computers and give a nostalgic feel with the dark aesthetics and the warm lighting while introducing gore into the mix. music and sound effects in my game are original scores I have composed.

Aesthetics inspirations:

Dead Ahead: Zombie Warfare mobile game the gameplay and art and sprite feel I drew inspirations from instead of point clicking defences you play as creepy little girl a common trope in horror films to spawn Lovecraftian inspired abominations to defend an unknown both ancient and 80s infested town to defeat hordes of survivals.

The red saturated colours in Scarface and mise-en-scene in the inspired my retro glowing colour effect and the scene of the town and the gate came from the idea of a Stranger Things inspired game having the player defend Hawkins town through playing as 11 with Vecna like powers

Software I used:

Game Engine: Unity

Music: Ableton Live, Analog Lab,

Recordings for audio: Audacity, Ableton Live

Programming: Jetbrains Rider, assistance in code from Cursor AI
